Ecotone Academy is a membership based program.

Because the journey to soul is a continuous, non-linear process, we do not offer our core programs a la carte as individual courses.

Instead, Academy members gain access to an entire ecosystem with a structured-but-customizable path towards your authentic, ecocentric Self.

As you cross the threshold into Ecotone Academy, you can choose the level of support and camaraderie that best fits your current capacity and needs.

The Structure

Form determines function.

The structure of a river canyon facilitates a very different experience than that of a mountaintop. The form of a church serves a different function than that of a grocery store.

With that in mind, Ecotone Academy is formed as a Private Membership Association.

When you step across the threshold and become a member of Ecotone or sign up for one of our programs, you are not "buying a product."

You are joining a private club of sovereign individuals. Your membership dues are offered as an investment in the collective health of the community and the continuity of the vision.

Within this community, all members are equal participants. No privileged relationships exist — there are no defined teacher/student, no doctor/patient or lawyer/client dynamics.

We gather as we are, as innately creative beings born on Earth to collaboratively dream our idea of heaven into existence.

This organizing structure facilitates the ideal environment for the free and courageous exploration of your personal and our collective ecotone. It allows a safe-enough space for us to get uncomfortable in useful ways.

Membership is open to all sincere seekers, and the privacy provided by the Association creates the secure environment in which massive transformations can occur.

The way a nuclear reactor needs strong containment in order to safely generate world-changing power, the PMA of Ecotone Academy provides the safe, stable and sacred container required for us to do this deep, transformative work together.

Important note: The Ecotone paradigm is non-diagnostic and non-pathologizing. We focus on what can go right with the human psyche, as opposed to judging what has gone wrong. All courses, consultations, and community discussions are an exchange of privileged information between fellow members, not medical advice or licensed therapy.

The Function

The lived experience of Ecotone Academy is multidimensional, engaging directly with the full spectrum of human experience — heart, mind, body, spirit, soul.

The primary function of Ecotone Academy is to create the circumstances in which you are most likely to have a direct encounter the transformative power of your soul.

This mysterious experience promises to reveal the authentic gifts only you carry and empower you with the courage and creatively to share them with the world. A conscious relationship with soul guarantees you will never be the same.

We accomplish this mission with a dynamic combination of fresh information, edgy invitations and collective accountability. The goal is to establish a new way of being — a more ecocentric way of seeing and moving through the world.

The program is fully participatory. Your active engagement in the process is absolutely vital. Nothing happens without you. Expert guidance can point the way, but only you can walk the path.

In practical terms, the Ecotone ecosystem consists of three primary categories:

The Practice 

The practical applications of Ecotone Academy depend very much on the individual, but we can describe them in a general way.

First, we study of the concepts that undergird the Ecotone paradigm. The coherent system of theories, art and science that inform Ecotone are valuable resources to enhance your chances of discovering the experience of soul for yourself. The various areas of study compose a complex, living system. The Crafts are intimately interwoven, each enlivening all the others.

Then, we practice experimental threshold crossings (ETCs). An ETC can take many forms. Often it looks like wandering in a wild place and engaging in conversation with the natural world — conversing with a stream for example, telling your story to a stone or listening for feedback from a wise old tree. It could be the waking recreation of a dream, or walking as the ogre haunting you there. In other more custom cases, it could be something like singing karaoke, asking for a raise, approaching an attractive person or taking a fashion risk. Sometimes it even means literally jumping across a physical threshold.

And always, we commune, coming together in council to share our stories. To be deeply seen and heard is perhaps the most important component of the journey, for what good are the gifts we discover if there is no recipient? When we come together to form a council, the sharing and witnessing is highly structured. At other times, the conversation is less formal, more friendly and free-flowing. That depends on our present-moment purpose, but the fact of our camaraderie is a non-negotiable.

Fundamental Ecotone practices include daily Space Craft meditation, a wide variety of prompts for journaling, dual-awareness experiments, compassionate communication strategies, relational intelligence and the consistent cultivation of a more ecocentric mindset in which you are consciously aware of your belonging within the web of all beings.
